A Family Record
A family is constantly changing. Kids grow up, siblings move away, and back again. Having a record of that change is one of those things that you wouldn't think crucial until you don't have it.
I often think of the phrases when looking at these old shots "oh I remember this," and "oh, this was before we did so and-so". Family shots are unique in that they serve as an anchor of our history. Allowing us to see the world on a certain day, during a certain time, or with certain people that we might not be able to in the future.
